How to Speed up Revit - Part 1

Due to the extremely large file sizes in Revit, it is very important to keep your system running as efficiently as possible. The following items are a few ways I have found to boost performance.

1. Purge all families of unwanted items before loading into project.
2. Close hidden windows to minimize memory usage.
3. Use a flash drive and take advantage of the additional memory provided by the Readyboost feature.
4. Use worksets to unload objects from your local file.

Please let me know if there are any additional methods that you have found effective and I will add them to the post.
